A look back...at pictures I had but never posted. Shame on me.

Yes, at times they were peaceful. But it never lasted for long.

I couldn't remember if I had this picture on here already or not. It's one of my favorites. Yes, that is Sheldon McDuck on the left.

This was my blind boy. The grey one in the center was blind in his left eye. My friends Matt and Michelle took him and one of his sisters. They live in Kansas City.

Look at the date. July 10th. They hatched June 24th to give you an idea of how fast they grew.

Awww...Sheldon McDuck.

This was one of the girls. It was so weird that the brown ones all turned out to be girls and all of the grey ones were boys. This is the girl that Matt and Michelle took.

This was the kids' first night after the rest of their siblings found new homes. They were terrified that they were the only ones left. Plus, Chester was soooo mean to him. He got locked up for like a month because he tormented them so bad.

I know, the pool is gross. This was on a clean day, too. :o)

A difficult, yet wonderful, decision. And a new home.

After MUCH thought, we decided it was best to let the ducks go to a new home. Bob met a wonderful woman named Judy who was willing to give them a wonderful home. She lives in the country, has a pond, and has 60 other ducks and geese. The ducks have access to a barn at night, and access to a pond all day. I was very reluctant to get rid of them, but seeing the home that Judy can provide for them and seeing them in a pond for the first time in their lives put my mind at ease. Here are their first moments in a pond.
They took right to it...the saying "like a duck takes to water" really held true!!

They stuck pretty close together and LOVED being in the water. They splashed, "ran" in the water, and seemed to make new friends.

Even with all of the other ducks and geese around, they still stuck together. For some reason, other ducks really seem to pick on Sheldon, but I fully believe he'll be fine.
Thank you, Judy, for giving my babies such a good home!

The Final Three: Mama, Dad, and Sheldon

I know it's been forever since I have posted anything on here about the ducks. These were taken on February 9th, 2008.
I was really starting to feel sorry for them because it was so cold and their water was frozen, and the only shelter that they had was a dog house with hay in it.

"Yum."

"What, no more?"
See how big Sheldon has gotten?
